Overhead line structures
Since the company was founded, Krabbenhøft & Ingolfsson has been actively involved in the design and innovation of Overhead Line Structures for high-voltage power transmission (220 – 400 kV). Amongst several projects, the company has carried out the engineering of development of the newly built Eagle Pylon family – a 2×400 kV overhead transmission line from Kassø in the Southern part of Jutland (DK) to Tjele in the Nothern part (172 km).
Similarly, Krabbenhøft & Ingolfsson is responsible for the complete engineering development of the award-winning T-Pylon, a family of novel 2×400 kV overhead transmission pylons on behalf of National Grid (UK). The services offered by Krabbenhøft & Ingolfsson range from traditional code-based structural design, design of electrically isolating GRP substructures, design of cast steel and iron components to advanced FE analysis of complicated structural parts and full-scale prototype testing.
With numerous other projects, Krabbenhøft & Ingolfsson has become a major contributor in moving the development of Overhead Line Structures into the 21st century.
