Thermal analysis

It is a well-known fact that materials expand and contract with temperature changes. In many civil engineering structures this is a physical phenomenon that must be taken into account, and even more so if the structure includes moving parts with tight tolerances.

Using advanced FE-software to model the opening section on Landgangen footbridge, our engineers were able to simulate temperature gradients throughout the deck and use the deflection to assess tolerances around the pin guides, and estimate bearing life.
